Daft Punk – Da Chip // An 8-Bit Cover Album

Are you a Daft Punk fan? Are you a nerdy 8-bit // Chiptune fan, or maybe a combination of the two? Well we have you covered. A bunch of 8-bit // Chiptune producers got together to put out this pretty bad ass compilation. I’ve been a fan of the 8-bit sound for sometime now and I don’t think I would have the same dance music taste if it wasn’t for old school vintage games from Sega to Nintendo.

Kristian Wilson of Nintendo, Inc said it best. “Computer games don’t affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.” – 1989

I’ll give you a few of my favorite tunes from the album as well as a bonus song. You can clearly hear these were done with precision, skill and love for the DP. Let us know what you think. I think it would be totally cool if Daft Punk did something like this during the vintage video game scenes in the new movie, or at least something like this a little special for the credits.

Je deviens dj en 3 jours – Aerodynamic (Daft Punk Cover)

EvilWezil – Veridis Quo (Daft Punk Cover)

Recodd – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Daft Punk Cover)

Pick up the full album Daft Punk – Da Chip Album here. Tracks listed after the jump.

Please support and buy music from these artists so we can keep this awesome sound alive!

Cheers!
