Skream Continues on the Disco Path with ‘Rollercoaster’

Skream has been caught in a bipolar storm between fans that loved his old sound and new fans that are having difficulty accepting the dubstep king’s switch to disco. Personally, I think his transition to disco could not have arrived at a more perfect time. With the Daft Punk craze still in full effect, it seems as if the general music climate is shifting from harder, bass-pounding music to softer, groove oriented tracks.

“Rollercoaster” carries enough nostalgic punch to make you wish your backyard was a skate rink and that you had more vintage clothes fitting of a retro age. Packed with enough vocoder altered lyrics to make Daft Punk squirm a bit – this track is everything that disco fans have been waiting for. It is shimmering production made complete with the high pitched vocals of Sam Frank and an epic ending guitar riff.

Take a listen below and be sure to catch the release October 28.
