Jacuzzi – Mizu (EP)
Fresh off a HypeM.com #1 remix of Santigold’s “Disparate Youth” and a successful collaboration with fellow Hawaiian phenom Mr. Carmack, 18-year old artist Jacuzzi aka Ryan York is just getting started. Beginning with classical training at the age of four and continuing his studies with production at the age of 12, Jacuzzi has developed a unique sound and vision, something far beyond his years.
Though he has a limited number of releases under his own name thus far, at just 18 years old, Jacuzzi’s extraordinary production skill and musical composition have been tapped by some of the most popular DJs in the world, his instrumentals requested by several of 2013’s most respected multi-platinum hip-hop artists.
Now, as the year comes to a close, Jacuzzi stands poised to launch his own brand, ready to make his mark with the release of his debut EP, Mizu. Produced at Avex Studios in Hawaii (Kanye’s “Yeezus”) and Just Blaze’s StadiumRed in NYC, Mizu is a cinematic concoction of future bass, grime, hip-hop, and popular bass music. As for Jacuzzi, his genre is not easily defined, rightfully so, it’s both moving and soulful. His distinctive sound is unlike any other, and there is much to look forward to from the young producer.
Honestly, this is one of the dopest EPs I’ve EVER heard. Dead ass serious. So please. Go ahead. Be wowed.
