TILT Spotlight: BLAUS

BLAUS are two brothers, Nathan and Zach Blaustone. They are a deep house duo that blend ambient dub and cosmic disco to create what they call “Booty Haus”, a fresh boundary-pushing addition to the EDM scene. Truly. The Northern California natives, currently residing in San Francisco, released their first single “Pecan Pie” on SLiCK Records in 2012. Black + White, the much-anticipated 12-track debut album self-released in 2013, is an atmospheric anthology of songs that indulge negativity with a positive charge.
They say the “Booty Haus” is a new sub-genre of dance music that they branched from deep house, tech house, hip house (I know a good deal about this one *winks*) and tribal house. The ultimate goal they feel is to leave fans feeling refreshed, empowered, and united. Everyone has a booty and BLAUS believes anything that can get that booty shaking is a good thing. Lose yourself, release the stress, and regain the power and excitement of existence. You with it?
Check out a couple selections from their collection, including “Looney Tooney” off Black + White which is my personal favorite, and “I Saw You” which just won them the 2013 White Wonderland Discovery Project. Yep, you can catch them right here in LA on New Year’s Eve with Laidback Luke if you’re feeling it. 😉
