Lewis Hurrell – Ordinary Life

I spend most Mondays going through music submissions. Most of what I come across is dance, whether it’s house stuff, trap stuff, future stuff… We’ve also been getting a lot more different kinds of hip-hop which has been fun. But it’s always rare to come across something like this. Something alternative! Have a listen to Lewis Hurrell‘s “Ordinary Life”.

As I’m writing this, I’m at my dad’s house who just heard the song playing and goes, “You’re listening to this? It sounds like old 80s rock stuff. You like this?” I’m secretly laughing, but I’m glad my dad digs it. That’s a good sign because he’s an old roadie for The Rolling Stones, Hall & Oates, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton — I could keep going… He loves to namedrop more than I do.

Anyway — Lewis is mega talented as you can hear, and has his hands in a lot of things right now. If you head over to his SoundCloud, you can hear his first single created shortly after finishing the score of the acclaimed documentary “An Inconvenient Tax”. He’s also finishing up an original tune for “American Made Movie” that we should be hearing pretty soon. So stay tuned with the man on Facebook in the meantime!
