Fight Night – Underground
What do you get when you have a punk band that puts down the drum set and guitars. When they decide to pick up beat machines and synths. You get Fight Night! This duo from Washington DC have spent years, as veterans of music, cultivating their own sound-melding sub-genre that blends together punk and rock styled vocals and instrumentals with an experimental electronic backbone. Definitely not your everyday EDM.
As a unique five-track-project that will pull at your heartstrings with vivid sounds and lyrics, The Underground EP will be Fight Night’s long-anticipated debut release. We like to call it Emo-Electronica.
Andy Gruhin of Fight Night explains the mindset and a bit of their creative process. “Every artist wants to have their cake and eat it too. However, there is a fine line between making the music that you love and being successful. Outside pressures will say that you need to change your sound to fit into a trend. In spite of these forces being so potent and hard to avoid, we have figured out how to keep those pressures at bay: By creating a force of our own. Fight Night is Josh and I in our complete authenticity. We have learned that, as long as we stay true to ourselves, we can have it all. This is our hope. This is our fight.”
