DON'T MISS: Juun feat. Sam Smith - When It's Alright

Just a quick note, I don't when I started enjoying and sharing these more minimal, deeper tech sounds, but yeah. They are awesome! OK, that's it.

The man Ferdinand Weber out of Berlin just dropped us a line about his new project called Juun. It's extremely impressive. Their first release is a groove-filled summery original mix that comes with vocals from Sam Smith (dude who sings on Disclosure's "Latch"). You're gonna love it. Enjoy!

BRAND NEW: The Penelopes - Time To Shine

I fell head-over-heels in love The Penelopes (Axel Basquiat and Vincent T.) when they pulled off that gorgeous redo of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven". And what I've found since perusing their SoundCloud is a super fun collection of passionate indie-dance jams that I think have mass appeal. Their new one came in the mail today. It's called "Time To Shine".

The track was written by Axel in a hotel room in Tokyo last winter using a bass, a cheap keyboard and a drum machine. When brought into the studio the song was spiced up with some French-electronic and 80s flavors, becoming an upbeat, anthemic electro track reminiscent of hedonistic, Flashdance-era Moroder.

The Penelopes are currently in the studio recording new material and working on new remixes, with more news on this coming soon. Follow them on Facebook for updates.

Lael Summer's 'Burden To Bear' Album

It was absolutely perfect the first time I heard Lael Summer's music. I was in the car driving up the sunny coast of California, checking email like I'm not supposed to be doing while driving, and opened up this album 'Burden To Bear'... I immediately fell in love with the deep funk instrumentals and Lael's incredibly diva-ish voice. My passenger said, "Is this old?" And I said, "No, I think this is just classic."

Lael says, "'Burden To Bear' is especially precious to me because it is my first album; it's my baby. During the writing process I had the freedom to explore all these facets of my identity I never really acknowledged or could make sense of. I picked through my thoughts, my dreams, my nightmares, conversations, observations and memories and used the fragments of my life to piece together something I could share with others."

Below are some of our favorite selections from the 12-track album that's full of soul. Stream the whole thing at SoundCloud and be sure to say hello to Lael on Twitter!

BRAND NEW: MØ - Don't Wanna Dance (Goldroom Remix) & Goldroom Tour Dates

Goldroom infuses his tropical nu-disco sound into his new remix of 's "Don't Wanna Dance". Despite the song title, the last thing you'll be thinking is "don't wanna dance" because it's hard to sit still while listening to this fun and groovy song. Danish singer-songwriter MØ's vocals are perfect for LA native Goldroom's sunkissed sound... Copenhagen and California never sounded so good together.

Goldroom is going to be a summer staple and with summer just around the corner, it's a perfect time to catch him on tour. If you're in LA, be sure to save the date for his show at the El Rey Theatre on May 31st. If not, check below to see if he'll be coming to your city.

BRAND NEW: Nelly - Ride Wit Me (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)

So I made a playlist for the drive down to Coachella and here's what it looks like:
  1. Nelly - Ride Wit Me (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)
  2. Nelly - Ride Wit Me (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)
  3. Nelly - Ride Wit Me (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)
  4. Nelly - Ride Wit Me (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)
  5. Nelly - Ride Wit Me (Viceroy "Jet Life" Remix)
Nailed it!

Consider this your warning about how addicting this song is. I highly suggest taking extra caution while attending Coachella pool parties. You don't want to have a few too many and be that person asking the DJ to play your favorite new Viceroy song (or do... especially if I'm there so I don't have to be that person).

Viceroy adds a fun, summer disco vibe to Nelly's "Ride Wit Me," so even if you're not heading out to the desert this weekend, this song is a mandatory (free) download.

Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell - Wanna Love You Girl (Shoe Scene Symphony Remix)

You guys remember Shoe Scene Symphony? We shared their super duper funky mix of Outkast's "Miss Jackson" last month and have been patiently waiting for the next thing... Fortunately for us, we didn't have to wait too long at all cuz earlier this week they dropped a new remix of Robin Thicke & Pharrell's not-"Blurred Lines". Their remix of "Wanna Love You Girl" stays true their perfect nu disco, indie house sound. Push play below.

BRAND NEW: Salt Ashes - Somebody (Satin Jackets Remix)

Play this song, close your eyes, and try to picture Kate Bush dancing to a vintage sound system that's blasting electronic pulsing grooves in a smoky, haunted Studio 54. Pretty cool right??

The German duo Satin Jackets put a nu-disco twist on Salt Ashes' soulful track, "Somebody". Salt Ashes' cooing vocals compliment Satin Jacket's groovy vibe so flawlessly that this track is guaranteed to have you yearning for the disco days of Studio 54.

After hearing a little more about Salt Ashes, I think she's certainly one to keep an eye on. She put herself on the map with her fresh take on Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration”. Since then she's been working hard in the studio to perfect her signature groove, which is influenced by Madonna, Kate Bush, Daft Punk, MIA, and "Giorgio Moroder’s blend of disco and epic dark atmospheres" (Salt Ashe's Soundcloud). It's evident that her work has paid off because her sound is new and unique while also being reminiscent of the disco greats. Looking forward to hearing what else this songstress has in store for us!

TILT Weekend Round-up #4 w/ Sharkoffs, Cats Hero, BEARSOHMY, Marian Hill, NAIMAH & more...

Oooookay... Damn. I got a lot of music built up yo. Pretty much just gonna drop everything below, so feel free to go right ahead. But man, in the last couple weeks the music game has been smackin'. Sharkoffs got a new one. You gotta hear this kid Cats Hero -- he's the next big Ed Banger type (you know what I mean). BEARSOHMY was another radical discovery, and his remix of A$AP Rocky's "Goldie" you will die for. Marian Hill's in here, whom we've been spotlighting via their amazing "One Time" remix by Imanos... And a fresh LA face in the indie-pop realm, NAIMAH, you just can't miss.

Hope you guys enjoy all the music we post -- feel free to drop a comment letting us know we're awesome or we're shit (we don't take things personally over here) -- & as always, have a good weekend!

BRAND NEW: The Golden Pony - Filthy Lover

Everyone's familiar with these weirdos above who call themselves The Golden Pony right? Good. Well then you'll be very excited to know these two young Brooklyn-based hoodlums have just released a brand new original tune called "Filthy Lover", which you can find below...

If you're as obsessed with the vocal as I am, this is how it came about...

"After creating the music for 'Filthy Lover', we thought a Chanty/Cheerleader kind of vocal would work nice, like in that 80's track that goes 'Hey Mickey you're so fine you blow my mind'... To flush the idea out we tried recording our own vocals and pitching them way up, which ended up sounding like a mix between a little kid and a transvestite. We thought this worked nicely in a weird way, so we left them in!"

Can't not love these guys!

TILT Spotlight: Wiley Webb

Came across this young lad Wiley Webb last week and have been rocking his tunes pretty much nonstop ever since. Dude has a really cool variety of electronic sounds in the mix of his SoundCloud collection, ranging from stuff that's pretty chill to stuff that's more appropriate for parties. The first thing I heard of his was his remix of Rhye's "Open". It's soo nice, so pretty, so lovely... Check it.

And yeah, couldn't do this spotlight without sharing his remix of Katy Perry's "Roar". I had my serious doubts when I was about to push play on this one... But Wiley came through with a really clean take that's mega funky and super fuckin' fun. Enjoy!

Blondie - Rapture (LUXXURY EDIT)

What can we say? Luxxury does it again with his massive new edit of Rapture by Blondie.  Luxxury has proven himself to be one of L.A.’s top-notch disco producers.  He remixes tastefully, nice and subtle changes.  Luxxury is somewhat of a chef when it comes to editing music.  This remix is so awesome, only released 12 hours ago and has already has been played numerous times.  He knows exactly what songs to tackle and he tackles them well.  Luxxury is sure a producer that you need to keep up with.  Follow him on soundcloud to get his latest tracks as he releases them on free download.  Enjoy this amazing track!

HOT: Devil Disco - High Society

Devil Disco has always been a quiet figure in the public sense I think... But one thing's for sure is this dude makes some serious fucking noise as a producer. I've personally been supporting him for as long as I can remember, a true fan of the dark, devilish disco that he (appropriately) creates. I'd like you guys to take a second to hear his new one "High Society" as it's a truly remarkable effort. Put it on below. Let me know. :)

Disco Dust - Fractals & DMT

I've discovered something wonderful in Disco Dust... Let me tell you a little bit about them...

The LA-based artists in Disco Dust unite their nuanced, driving electronic sound with intricately crafted indie songwriting, weaving the two elements into a flavor uniquely their own. Vocalist Matt Blankenship Jr whispers and soars, his versatile voice morphing from percussive instrument to a veritable choir of ethereal, ghostly layers. Talented multi-instrumentalist Bryan Walker commands the beat with an arsenal of live drums, samplers, sequencers and synthesizers. Both musical veterans with years of experience in live bands, Disco Dust performs live with instruments as well as a DJ console. The duo ushers in a new era of electronic dance music that transcends the decks—living and breathing with a pulse as fresh and exciting as it is human.

"Fractals & DMT" is their latest creation and it's absolutely adorable, super easy to fall deeply in love with. You gotta just try it. Push play below!

Might as well peep "Coming Down" too just cuz I'm obsessed this one too. :D

BRAND NEW: Fake Blood - Get Myself Together

Fake Blood changed the game for me back when he dropped "I Think I Like It" that incredible redo of Arabesque's classic... I literally listened to that song multiple times a day for months on end. Dude is a legend in the game.

He's got a new EP coming out March 10th called 'Waiting' that should be pretty fucking killer based on the "Get Myself Together" single he dropped yesterday, which you can find below. Turn it up loud and let us know what you think!

Funk LeBlanc - Waves

Oh my dear sweet lord... I have found the funkiest music ever...

OK... Take a minute here really quick to remember the first time you ever heard Breakbot... I'm about to introduce you to an artist that will give you that same feeling.

Funk LeBlanc is next up. I'm telling you... This guy is the future. Check out his brand new single "Waves" below and tell me you don't feel the same way.

Le Twan - Survivors ACK

Coming out of the brisk of Switzerland, a favorite of ours Le Twan just dropped a really cool single via HOF called 'Survivors ACK'. The single features a stellar and incredibly catchy original mix of "Survivors ACK" as well as unforgettable remix from Thomas Barrandon. A super worthy pick-up, it's available now at iTunes. Check it out below!

The Golden Pony ft. Suntalk - Bonfire

If you guys aren't familiar with The Golden Pony by now there's no hope for you. Sorry to be a dick but it's true. Hailed as "incredible" by Earmilk today, the guys (Timothy & Thomas) just let loose their second original release following up their debut "Tiny Purple Fishes". It's called "Bonfire" and it features fellow New Yorkers, Suntalk

Honestly, it's my favorite thing these guys have made to date. Their remixes have always been killer and that first original did its thing, but there's something classic about "Bonfire". I think they nailed it and I think this is the start of something even bigger for our boys. Enjoy the tune below!

Santigold - L.E.S. Artistes (LE TOUCH LADS Remix)

I'm pretty much a fan of any new remix of Santigold that comes my way because only dope people fuck with her anymore. Like this one "L.E.S. Artistes" that LE TOUCH LADS did recently... God damn it's good... Like, there's too much good in this. Good house, disco, indie, and hip-hop all in one 5 and a half minute remix. You're gonna love it and it's a free download. Enjoy!
